CJ Griffin Quoted in Article Regarding Directives to Make Police Disciplinary Records Public
CJ Griffin, Director of the Justice Gary S. Stein Public Interest Center at Pashman Stein Walder Hayden, was quoted in The Trentonian, “AG Grewal’s bad-cop directives headed for NJ Supreme Court.” The article discusses Attorney General Gurbir Grewal’s authority to reform police accountability.
“I’m confident the Court will uphold the directives, but what we really need is for the Legislature to pass S-2656 to make all police disciplinary records public," said C.J. Griffin, an attorney representing the National Coalition of Latino Officers and the Law Enforcement Action Partnership.
"This sliver of sunlight by the AG’s directives is not enough and leaves us far, far behind the level of transparency that other states provide,” Griffin added.
