CJ Griffin Quoted in Axios Article regarding Delay in Release of Philadelphia Police Bodycam Footage

CJ Griffin, partner and director of the Justice Gary S. Stein Public Interest Center at Pashman Stein Walder Hayden P.C., was quoted in an Axios article titled, “Philly Lags PA Cities in Releasing Bodycam Footage.” The article discusses how Philadelphia is rated among the lowest of several of Pennsylvania's major cities that provided data on how often officials make bodycam footage available to the public.

In New Jersey, police departments can't shield footage from being released by claiming it's an investigatory record, CJ Griffin told Axios.

“There's a real movement in so many other states … that transparency actually does benefit police," Griffin said. "It's sad that Pennsylvania's not doing that.”
